So as I just posted, we went and saw Master and Commander yet again last night. I went with Zauditu, Quinnalt, and Puppy, to the Charles Theater. The Charles is very interesting. I like the atmosphere, but it is not set for SDDS or any fancy new systems for viewing. That and this psiky haired chick was in front of me and sat up prim and proper the whole time. Which I guess was good because I didn't have to look at the mirror while the doctor was doing surgery on himself, but still, I missed some really cool things too. Ah well. I'll see it again at the Muvico soon and that will have better seating. Who's up for that? :) Though if it ends up at the Senator, i definately want to see it there.
Anyway, after the movie, we were all hungry (Quin and the pup had gotten off work just when I picked them up to go to Zauditu's), so we decided to try the Paper Moon Diner, on the Northwest side of town. Its a 24/7 diner, with unique atmosphere, Cupie dolls, barbie dolls, naked, painted mannequins, and old toys everywhere. I really liked it, though the food is a little interesting. I think next time I might just try the quesadillas instead of the beef wrap. But Quin had a Black Russian and he really liked it, so it cant be all bad.
Anyway, we sat there and made the waitress come back like 3 times before taking our order becuase we were talking "Tall Ship Ease" about the movie.. The guy in the head at Cape Horn, the guy kissing the figurehead on the bow, etc, etc, etc. Finally I just piped up and said, "We're tall ship geeks." This was made evident by the fact that after dinner, while we were sipping on coffee, Quinn started making masts out of toothpicks and napkin pieces. The puppy has written up the story, and the how to on making your own HMS Suprise out of a jelly container, 4 toothpicks, and a napkin, and some strands of hair. I pulled out like 6 strands of hair at once. Remind me never to do that again. That hurt a bit. But it did provide decent rigging for the sails. The one thing puppy didn't mention was how Zuaditu made a rudder out of a sugarpacket. Quite unique. Anyway, you can check the how-to, here:
Make your own HMS Suprise
The only difference is that it wasn't grape jelly, it was Mixed Berry.
I think this movie may surpass Indiana Jones as my favorite movie ever. Yes, be afraid, be very afraid.
Okay, now to make dinner. Puppy and his mom are coming over for a quasi thanksgiving dinner. More later.
