Went back into the darkroom last night to get some more printing for the Constellation done. Made 7 prints total, 4 to remain in black and white, and 3 to be sepiatoned today before I leave. I'm finding that the more I work with the techniques, I'm getting better at guessing timings and approxiamate perfection values. The one picture of Larry (the Lieutenant from Ship's Company , our personal reenactment group, turned out awesome. Its a cross between Colnel Sanders, and Delmar from O Brother Where art Thou?. I redid the picture I did of the Captain's Cabin, and then I made an extra copy to sepia tone. and the one ove the boys rolling up the canvas.. Damn I'm good. A few seconds of dodging on their faces, and you get some great detail. And the pic I did for Michael, I had to relaly dode his face and hands, but I got some excellent contrast. And the building behind him (I think its the Hyatt) looks really cool with its different colored blocks.
I still have a few pictures I really want to get done, but I have so much homework this weekend, and I wont be near the enlarger. I actually need to find a picture that I've done in both color and black and white, to compare for my persuasive speech I think. Unless you guys have a better thing for me to persuase people into?
from now on I must do a test strip with the friggin sepia toner so I don't screw up 4 prints or so.
GRRr im aggrivated now.
