Sep. 30th, 2002 08:03 amLots of things happened this weekend, not the least of which being that I've found myself addicted to Forensic Files on Court TV (thanks Kit!) I had just happened on it one night when nothing else was on.. and now I'm completely addicted. its like the rush I get when I watch Unsolved Mysteries, and suddenly after them theres an "Update" flash, even though its mostly because these cases are in reruns. I like Forensic Files much better than I,Detective though.
So, Saturday I escorted a group of lesbians to Renfaire. Little did I know that I shouldn't have driven them. I shouldve just had them follow me. For I met someone! No, I'm not getting all excited about this yet, not wholly...mostly because Daddy and Mommy haven't met him yet to give the yeah, he's okay, or no, run for your life he's crap, determination. And I'm waiting to see if he calls this week like he said he would.. and if he even show's up on Sunday. *HEY GUESS WHAT! I STILL DONT TRUST PEOPLE!!*
Oh, as a side note, thanks for the people who checked in on me and answered my little homework assignment for this week. I really appreciated it. Invisible ponies for all!
Saturday Night I was watching TV in bed, and came up with my perfect halloween Costume. Im going to go as Punky Brewster! Now I just have to find the pieces for the costume! Anyone willing to help me? :)
Sunday was a very long day, but probably the most enjoyable in a bit. Calmly enjoyable. I went home. Mom and I had lunch at the restraunt kat works at, then we went and visited my friends Gregg and Trish. Trish needed help with some crochet stuff, so mom went with me to see her. And while they talked about crochet, Gregg and I went up to his computer office and worked on an 2000 box and he showed me some cool video editing he's done of footage of a helicopter ride he and Trish took in Vegas a month ago. It was amazing what he could do. I tried to talk him into doing a suprise music video for the Dreamscapes Project..but he said it wouldn't work just getting live footage from the concert. Maybe when they win the finals, they can use some of that money, and then give the video to MHZ, so not only with DSP be rich, but then Gregg wll be too cause he'll get more business to do the video editing stuffies :P
After we got back from that, kat was home, so we hung out and watched a movie on Satellite, and then sorted a bunch of stuff that was Grandmas. This was a major thing for me, not as much so for kate because she was only 2 when gramma died. Soon after her death, mom and dad packed up a box of her things, little trinkets and doodads that she had on a set of shelves in the basement. I can remember playing with these when I was younger, so a few of them had sentimental value to me. We weren't allowed to touch the box, until we were both old enough to take care of the pieces inside. So yesterday was a lot like a right of passage. Kat and I are both old enough now to take care of some family valuables. And it was cool- we spent the whole time, getting along and having a great time splitting things up. I think we're different enough people that we could split things up well. Though most of the salt n pepper shakers I took (gramma collected these), I took to mess up my mom's nativity set this christmas. Its a thing that I have to set this thing up, so I'm adding penguins and birds and beer bottles to it this year. I think my penguins are going to be mary and joseph. And the little bear I have is going to be eating baby jesus, and the raccoon is going to be nibbling on the manger. Kat and I were having a field day with it.
For mom, I think it started to weigh in on her own mortality. She kept asking us about who was going to take what of hers- who was going to get what music boxes, who was going to get her betty boops, etc. Frankly, its not really something I want to think about. Mommys live forever!
And she pushed the grandchild thing again.. I asked her if I should go out and get knocked up now. She didn't like that.. but thats the way it felt.
So, now its monday and back to the grind. I so just wish I was back in bed. But at least my lithium is levelled out! Woohoo!!
