Being poor in most times would be survivable, but then today I had to go actually look at photo equipment for my dad.
http://www.pentax.com/products/lenses/lensemodel.cfm?lensetype=35mm&lensemodel=FA%2DMacro(second one down, the 110mm f/3.5) Oh yes, she will be mine. As soon as I have 250 dollars free fun money. Unless I can find her cheaper somewhere, which might be possible.
They also have a 80-200mm which is also very nice. That's used and its only 50. That one will be mine sooner than the 110. Hoping I can convince the folks to get me the 110, or help me get the 110 for my b-day.
Dad's camera is in really good shape for being as old as I am. (and that's pretty damn old!) All Gary (my pet photo guy) said to do was clean the external parts with a q-tip and some cleaner. So guess what I'm going to do during "That 70s Show?" But that's cool. I want the experience. Also his flash just had some corrosion, and seemed suprised when I told him Gary did it for no charge. Dad was dissapointed that you can't get an autowinder for the camera, and that if he were to trade the K1000 in, he'd only get 50 bucks. "Its worth more than that to me," was his comment. I had to concur. Every picture my dad has taken of me, EVER has been taken with that camera. I learned to love photography with that camera. I learned how to use a manual camera with that camera. If dad gets the new one, I'm gonna take the K1000 for myself :P Maybe this is totally sacriligious, but I prefer it over my auto/manual SLR. OOh, speaking of which, I have to check something out with dad's lenses.
I also need to get a dodging/burning kit for my darkroom work, to improve contrast in my photos. That's only like 7 bucks cause its a wire and some cardboard cutouts. And a new easel, cause mine sucks, paper (always need paper), distilled water (getting tomorrow), a grain magnifier (also b-day fodder), and lots of other odds and ends.
Erin says she can tell I've made massive improvement because of how excited and animated I was tonight, but it wasn't overly so as to be hypomanic. And I made a lot more eyecontact than usual. Still not sure about all that.
Long enough for ya? :)
